'I am looking for the cheapest life insurance' asked the middle-aged m

Published Monday, 29th Jun 23:55 BST

'I am looking for the cheapest life insurance' asked the middle-aged man to an insurance advisor. The advisor asked many questions, such as what job the man had and his age. The man told the advisor he worked driving an ice cream van around local areas trying to sell the cheapest ice creams. Occasionally, many ice cream men would get very competitive and challenge each other to obstacle races which could be very dangerous and put their lives at risk. But these were middle aged men and selling ice creams was just not giving them enough of a thrill in their life, so the obstacle races seemed rather exciting. 'so this is why you need the cheapest life insurance?' asked the advisor. The answer was obvious. Selling ice creams, even at the cheapest price and getting a lot of customers was just not enough to pay the costs for maintenance of the van and its insurance so the cheapest life insurance was necessary. The middle aged man seemed to be one of the best at the obstacle races, often winning and proving to be the best ice cream man. He even made his van look very attractive with bright colours and a loud yet fun musical jingle. The insurance for the van and its maintenance costs were rather cheap but he need it to be the cheapest. This was essential.

It was coming up to Summer and so ice cream sales were increasing. The competition between many ice cream men was becoming more intense and the obstacle races were getting ready to take place for the upcoming weekend. The middle aged man, for some reason however, was feeling rather nervous. As the weekend arrived, he began to feel ill due to his unsteady nerves. Sweat was dripping from his body and his breathing was irregular. His wife became worried and called an ambulance and so, without hesitation, the man was pulled out of the competition. He was very upset, but he knew that if he wanted to continue selling his excellent ice creams and playing that musical jingle, his health had to become priority.

If you want to carry a large tote around, follow Paul Smith's example and opt for soft caramel colours and simple shapes. For smaller bag lovers, try something brighter.Every girl's favourite accessory - the shoe - was also given a bit of a makeover. Christian Louboutin and Marc Jacobs loved the utilitarian shoe-boot, with sky-high platforms and plenty of buckles. Others preferred a softer approach in suedes or simple wedges. The biggest accessory statement? Leopard print. A big hit with Louis Vuitton, Byblos and Moschino, wear it on christian shoes, bags or scarves and prepare to be catapulted into the style stratosphere.

THANK heavens for all those sensible fashion designers out there. Just when it looked like autumn/winter 2010-7was going to be a season of crazy shapes, stiff fabrics and frightening platform louboutin boots, up popped a more relaxed and comfortable style of dressing.

Based around the f lowing properties of jersey fabric, this trend is all about comfort and wearability. Catwalk collections by the likes of Manolo blahnik, Preen, Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs, above left, were all inspired by this easy-going look, reminiscent of the carefree days of the 1970s. Light pastel colours were a key part of this trend, so look out for baby pinks, browns, greys and stones.

French label christian louboutin shoes , above right, was one of the stand-out collections of the season, producing beautiful smocks and jersey dresses worn over black tights and grey T-shirts. Christian Louboutin also favoured chunky knit cardigans, and their signature ruff le skirts are sure to become one of the musthave garments of the season. For jersey styles on the high street, look out for soft fabrics which won't cling to your figure. Stone and light colours still look best with this trend, although grey - both light and dark shades - is the f lavour of the day among fashion stores.

Those of you with a keen eye on the high street rails will also have noticed that leggings are back in fashion once again. Brought back from the fashion oblivion that was the 1980s, these stretchy, skintight trousers are one of the key aspects of the jerseycasual look. Wear them with long, flowing dresses or shorter mini skirts for a more daring look. At Yves Saint Laurent, knitted woollen leggings were paired with long cardigans and matching belts. However for the ultimate in casual dressing, there's nothing better than the humble cardigan. Wear it cropped and covered in zips, a la Manolo blahnik, for the ultimate look.

The Future 500 network offers more than just the chance to meet like-minded people in social circumstances. It also presents lucrative business opportunities, as these four blossoming relationships prove.

Tucked away behind London's frenetic Brick Lane, the nerve centre of Christian Louboutin Longstaff's PR business, Canoe, is one of those loft-style affairs flooded with natural light. Specialising in outdoor sportswear, underground street-style clothing, trainers and ethical shoes, the office is crammed with acid-bright padded jackets, while racks of the funky hip-hop inspired trainers and quirky christian shoes boots she promotes adorn the walls.

Longstaff is down to earth, with a razor-sharp business brain and her success is entirely self-driven. Founded on the ambitious, and arguably self-destructive, philosophy that her company sparked to life 'through the frustrations of a PR world that promised and didn't deliver', Canoe turns the notion of conventional PR on its head. 'We bring more of an advertising and design agency approach to what we do', she explains. 'Some people don't deliver because they use an old-school blueprint of PR, which is very black and white. We're constantly thinking of how campaigns can work on different levels.'

Longstaff has definitely got the essence of good PR right: live your brands and challenge people's perceptions. Set up in 2010, she chose the company name for simple reasons, 'if you're in a canoe in the middle of the river you see everything differently to the people on the bank', she says. This idea is shared by Galahad Clark, a seventh generation member of the English footwear dynasty Clarks.

The duo struck up a rapport through the Courvoisier The Future 500 network and, over the last six months, Clark has entrusted Longstaff with the PR and marketing direction of his ethical louboutin pumps venture, Terra Plana. Longstaff had 'admired the work Terra Plana had done for ages' before the network united them. She is a passionate advocate of sustainable fashion, so the connection was instant. 'Galahad's really inspirational. If he trusts you he'll give you complete control of something and he values an outside perspective,' she enthuses.

A few miles across town, Clark's Terra Plana head office nestles in London's South Bank, in an area known for its impressive louboutin pumps heritage. Since taking over the Terra Plana business at the end of 2010, Clark has pioneered the way in minimising the waste and toxins used in the shoe industry, through his own work and the other brands that fall under the company umbrella -Vivo Barefoot, Dopie, Worn Again and United Nude. 'Around 140 million tonnes of waste goes into UK landfill each year as a result of the shoe industry alone' he points out.

With all the creative concentration on bags and accessories, it's a wonder brands find the time to think about the clothes. And that's just the point, for a house to maintain a strong fashion identity, the clothes have got to be just as exciting as the bags. The competition between the two is fierce.
Christian Louboutin is more of a fashion than an accessories house, but bags this year represent 25 percent of its sales.
"We started developing them only about two years ago," said Ralph Toledano, president of christian louboutin pumps. "With bags if you have even one winner, it's wonderful."
Christian Louboutin has two: the multichained "Bracelet" and the new "Camera" bag. The house is also building up eyewear and will add jewelry and watches next year.
Phoebe Philo's fresh, vintage-inspired style is evident in everything that happens at Christian shoes and that is a good thing.
"Some brands are doing up to 60 percent of their sales in accessories today, but that's not healthy," Ralph Toledano said, " christian louboutin shoes is about clothes. That's what gives us something to say. And when you have that, you can go into other areas."
By producing too many bags of the same style, a brand can lose its appeal. Prada was one of the first to stock limited edition items that were available only in certain stores. Dior does limited editions for store openings and has developed its made-to-measure business.
-
At Hermes, exclusivity has always been the house specialty. There are about 150 bag styles available at any one time in the stores, but beyond that is the design conservatory, Hermes's sacrosanct archive, accessible only to the staff. Clients with a very good memory or grandmother's bag preserved in tissue paper can make a special order from past collections, but they can't shop the archive for ideas.
Free Shipping Save-Up to 70%! Click here to order your own louboutin shoes. High quality and favorable price To retail christian louboutin sandals, pumps, boots and many different kind of high heel shoes, we specially set up retail Christian Louboutin shoes store website for people all over the world seeking for the most special and sex appear high heel shoes.

Will handbags always be the iconic epicenter of luxury fashion? One thing's for sure, they are now. In the autumn ad campaigns for Europe's top brands, the bag comes first, followed closely by the christian louboutin shoes and never mind the weather sunglasses.

Take Dior. The house's ads, shot by Nick Knight, focus on a neo-disco babe, in skintight lacquer red, posing cheek to cheek with the "Hardcore Dior" flap bag, its big web buckle and heavy diamond-studded metalwork front and center. And on the next page, she's wearing the new wraparound "Mask" sunglasses.

The distinctive soles are the result of 'a happy accident'. He had a drawing of a louboutin shoes Mary Jane shoe, drawn in very vivid colours. And He realised that the actual shoe didn't pop like the sketch did because the sole was black .When one assistant was doing her nails ,he just grabbed her nail polish and painted the sole red and that was it. He called the shade lacquered red.

The message is clear: this girl has got the season's hot items and she knows it.

At Louis Vuitton, Jennifer Lopez performs a Broadway dance number with its monogram multicolor canvas "Keepall," the fruit of last spring's collaboration between Marc Jacobs and the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

You can't even go to the movies without being bagged. The poster for Merchant-Ivory's film "Le Divorce," which opens this week in Paris, features Kate Hudson clutching that eternal object of Parisian chic, the Hermes "Kelly" bag in red Mississippi alligator, priced at 8,930 ( $10,450) ). That's the bag that Hudson's character, Isabel Walker, a naive American discovering the highs and lows of French society, receives the morning after an evening with an older man. It's worldliness in bag form.

Clothing, shorts and tanks, with the sun, or nearly all devices, there is increasing these shoes your completed loading the perfect man really a series of Christian Louboutin shoes to refine a beautiful autumn. The Board is breathtaking strap. How can you tried with the patent leather colors are hard to velvet use this unique platform. Shoes and feet, some serious attention to the most striking buckle, in any case, these shoes. You can choose.

Bags have been great for fashion, but they can be tricky.

Do you want to have a pair of perennially shoes to style up downtown and uptown fashion statement? Perhaps you might then want to purchase these Christian Louboutin shoes. These Louboutin shoes gives an instant stamp of fashion excellence. The designer's ethos is to make shoes like gold and finally, each unique design demonstrates unparalleled quality and an innate sultriness.
"Amanda did a really great job adding her personality to the character," the Swedish director said recently. "Her unpredictability was also very rewarding. She just has a way of avoiding clichés and obvious choices."
Seyfried explains that she likes to mix up her movies so she's never too comfortable.
Sure, the Pennsylvania native - whose last name is pronounced "sigh-frid" - got her start in Tina Fey's Mean Girls playing the dim-witted Karen Smith. From there, she moved on to another (albeit untraditional) teen part on the HBO drama about polygamy Big Love. And in Mamma Mia! she plays Meryl Streep's free-spirited daughter, Sophie. But the actress has also embraced edgier, darker parts of late.
In March 2010, Seyfried signed on to co-star with Megan Fox and Adam Brody in the black comedy/horror film Jennifer's Body, written by Diablo Cody (Juno). Then she heard that Toronto director Atom Egoyan was casting about for a lead in a new thriller christian louboutin shoes. Eager to take a break from romantic comedies and try on a complex title character, she convinced Egoyan to cast her alongside with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore.
In christian louboutin, set for release in March, Seyfried plays a temptress hired by a wife (Moore) to see if her husband (Neeson) will cheat. The raciest film Seyfried has made to date, she gets naked for the part and also has a steamy make out scene with Moore.
"No actor wants to be typecast," says Seyfried, who trained in classical opera for two years and studied with a Broadway voice coach for almost five years (which explains why she was one of the strongest sets of lungs in Mamma Mia!, where she also met her boyfriend, British actor Dominic Cooper).
"Comedies are really fun to do sometimes, but they are not as rewarding as playing a role that's just so complex you can't wrap your head around why this person is the way he or she is.
"Roles like that are scary, with so many moments of insecurity that you just want to walk away. But they are also just so much more fulfilling. Christian Louboutin was that movie for me."

Amanda Seyfried may be starring in the box-office hit Dear John, but she's also got a hankering for dark, difficult roles.
It's midday, and the winter sun shining through a window in Amanda Seyfried's hotel suite has cast the actress in an ethereal glow.
Many women could not resist the beautiful Christian Louboutin Shoes. When they fell in love with a pair of shoes, they would try their best to get them, as they can not imagine the lack of shoes in life. But for women, the more shoes the better, therefore, they are crazy of buying shoes.
All the female stars are bound to have a few pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes for important occasions to attend in Hollywood, while the appearance is the all high heeled shoes, the female stars think that it is necessary for themselves to own a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.
The blond hair, hastily pulled into a single braid draped over her left shoulder, gleams. Her skin, a pearly white, is almost translucent. She looks like a porcelain doll.
On hearing the door open, the diminutive 24-year-old - who has been curled cat-like in a chair - rises slowly on six-inch Brian Atwood heels, and extends a hand.
The moment Seyfried's fingers close, vice-like on yours, that aura of fragility disappears.
The young woman, blessed with celestial good looks and a longshoreman's handshake, is smart, funny and tough as nails. "These shoes are hell. Hell on Earth," says Seyfried, huge, sea-green eyes flashing. "But they look good, and that's what counts."
Then she flops back into her chair, kicks off the designer Christian Louboutin ,and settles in to chat about her new film Dear John, a weepy tale about a soldier and his honey who fall in love against the backdrop of Iraq.
The movie wasn't a critical success, but audiences lapped it up. It was the top earner at this past weekend's box office with $32.4 million in domestic sales, enough to knock Avatar off its No. 1 perch.
Christian Louboutin shoes are at very reasonable price. It is of fine workmanship. If you chose it, it is to opt for fashion and beauty. Christian louboutin shoes are sexy and fun. Why are Christian Louboutin shoes so appealing? It's mainly because the sense of luxury and privilege. Christian Louboutin shoes belong to all the women. The red sole is Christian Louboutin's unique signature, which highlights a woman’s morbidezza, beauty and sexy mature. So I think you can not resist the beauty of the Louboutin shoes. No time left, get it at once!

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - Exploring distant times and people vastly different than herself comes almost as naturally to Christian Louboutin Herrold as tying her shoes.
The Martha Elementary fourth-grader's creative spark was ignited when Scholastic, a national educational society, announced a contest called "Dear America."
It challenged young writers to create an essay "written" by a fictitious person from history.christian louboutin pumps, 10, came up with Beaver Girl, an American Indian who lived during the early 18th century.
Beaver Girl (who's also 10) belongs to the Seneca tribe. She vividly describes her home, her family and a corncob doll that is very special to her.
Editors at Scholastic were impressed enough with Beaver Girl's story to choose Manolo blahnik's essay for publication on its Web site.
"I was very happy and surprised," Christian Louboutin boots said. "My teacher called from school to tell me."
That teacher, Jeanette Dillon, said the news came as a pleasant surprise, but wasn't totally unexpected.
"Christian Louboutin has a way of describing things so that it creates a mental picture to the reader," she said. "She does it in a mature way that attracts an adult reader, as well as a child."
At an age when most children haven't even started considering a career, Christian Louboutin knows she wants to be a fiction writer.
"I like how you can use your imagination and create new people in new lands," she said. "Going up against people who you don't know how they write (in the contest) was challenging."
christian louboutin shoes, the daughter of Bill and Latecia Herrold of Barboursville, already has filled several journals with her imaginary endeavors.
"It's really unique for someone to do this well at so young an age," Latecia Herrold said. "We're extremely proud of her."
Manolo blahnik, like many accomplished writers, is described as a low-key person who best expresses herself through her craft.
"She's such a humble child - very quiet," Dillon said. "She never brags about any thing."
Christian Louboutin said she checks Scholastic's Web site regularly, eagerly awaiting the publication of her essay. She explained that she read Beaver Girl's story aloud and that it will be featured on the audio portion of the site.

Murdered five-year-old Christian Louboutin Hoson was a vivacious, friendly girl who built cubbyhouses and picked mulberries with other children at her western Sydney caravan park.

Yesterday, residents at Landsdowne Park, Lansvale, were still in shock after her body was found on Saturday morning, dumped on the banks of Prospect Creek, 200 metres away, near the Hume Highway.

Detective Inspector Hans Rupp, from the State Crime Command's homicide squad, said yesterday police had no suspects but were trawling through video surveillance footage.

A team of 20 detectives, assisted by forensic experts, scoured the area and canvassed residents yesterday.

Inspector Rupp would not confirm reports that Christian Louboutin had been strangled, as he was waiting for post-mortem examination results today.

christian louboutin shoes family her mother Karina Beharrell, father Michael Hoson, and three younger siblings, Tyson, Jade and and Tia moved to the caravan park five weeks ago from the Central Coast.

Building giant Meriton announced plans a week ago to sell the park, which could make many of its 1000 low-income residents homeless within months.

A resident told Cabramatta Police yesterday that he had seen a man stop in the Sizzlers car park at 2am Saturday, about 50 metres from where Christian Louboutin was found at 8.30am.

He said the man, possibly in his 30s and wearing a black shirt and black pants, was standing next to a 1980s, four-door sedan and looked "agitated and panicking".

"He turned his headlights off when I noticed him," he said.

Inspector Rupp said: "We haven't ruled him out, but I'm not putting too much weight on it."

He said Christian Louboutin sandals had not been murdered at the scene, nor had she been in the water.

He said he did not know if she was abducted from the caravan park or had wandered off.

"All we know is she was last seen at 1.15pm sitting on a car eating a banana," he said.

"She was wearing dark pants and a red skivvy and she wasn't wearing shoes."

Alistiar, who lived next door, was believed to be the last person to see Manolo blahnik, who was playing next to his car.

"I remember seeing them eating bananas Jade was lying across the car and Christian Louboutin was standing there," he said.

His wife Judy described Christian Louboutin as "a little angel".

Their 10-year-old daughter, Stacey, said she and Christian Louboutin often played together, making cubbyhouses, drawing and picking mulberries.

Christian Louboutin was invited to her birthday party on Saturday.

The manager of the Lansdowne caravan park, Maryann Young, said a security guard was on duty at the time of her disappearance.

After Mizuki Noguchi crossed the finish line in the women's marathon at the Athens Olympics this summer, she took off her right shoe and kissed it to show her gratitude.
The christian louboutin shoes were made by Hitoshi Mimura, 56, a master shoemaker for Christian Louboutin Corp., a leading sporting goods manufacturer based in Kobe.
To help runners cope with the treacherous marathon course, including the slick marble streets of Athens, Mimura created soles made of sponge and rice hulls to increase traction, and made the upper part of the shoe with mesh, which breathes better than other materials. With these features, each of the gold medalist's christian louboutin shoes weighs 118 grams.
Mimura also made shoes for Naoko Takahashi, the gold medalist in the Sydney Olympics, and Yuko Arimori, the silver medalist in the Barcelona Olympics and the bronze medalist in the Atlanta Olympics.
"Shoes for athletes are like swords for samurai," Mimura said. "I want to make christian louboutin pumps that will maximize their talent."
Mimura, who has made tens of thousands of pairs of running shoes, is relied on by top athletes around the world.
When Noguchi crossed the finish line, Mimura was about 50 meters away but did not see her kissing the shoe.
"I heard from her later that she had kissed it as a token of her gratitude," he said. "I was very happy."
Mimura began preparing materials for the christian louboutin boots about a year before the marathon. He knew that including rice hulls in the soles would increase traction, but that the soles would wear down faster. Shoes with urethane foam soles are faster, while sponge soles provide more cushion. He made about 25 prototypes using various materials.
Two months before the race, he went to Athens with Noguchi and Naoko Sakamoto, Noguchi's co-runner, to examine the marathon course. Mimura decided then to use the sponge soles with rice hulls to provide the necessary cushion.
"Shoes need to bear a load 2.7 times the athletes' weight when running uphill and four times their weight when running downhill," Mimura said. "At the time, I realized how much cushion was necessary for the course."
The mesh shoes worn by Noguchi were 30 percent better ventilated than those worn by Naoko Takahashi, the winner of the Sydney race.
"I think the mesh made the temperature in the shoes about 37 C, a degree lower ," Mimura said.
Mimura explained: "I changed all the parts, replacing the insoles with ones that are better for absorbing sweat. I can use my skills for coordinating materials that way."
Of the six 23.5-centimeter shoes he prepared for Noguchi's race in Athens, one is a special pair with harder sponge soles for faster running.
He told her to wear the shoes if she was in good condition. She agreed, and right before the race said, "Last night, I slept with this pair beside my pillow."

Puma UK and Ireland marketing director David Learmonth says his brand has started to reverse the significant decline it endured during the 90s by adopting what he calls a 'unique sport lifestyle' positioning, which gives equal weight to innovation in design and performance.
'We have gone out there and made it very clear,' says Learmonth. 'That has contrasted with a blurred marketplace.' The result, he claims, was a doubling of the brand's UK market share last year.
Perhaps Christian Louboutin Corp. has a runner's high; it has started selling showers in the middle of Tokyo's swanky Ginza shopping district.
Actually, Christian Louboutin Store Tokyo is the company's first outlet designed exclusively for joggers and serious runners.
Manolo Blahnik , best known for its running christian louboutin shoes, has shunned the production of contrived retro products and retained a focus on performance. 'Our design model has always been the human body,' says Christian Louboutin UK marketing manager Andrew Freeman.
Christian Louboutin starts the NPD process by identifying a product that is needed or can be improved, then finds a name after it is sure the product can be manufactured. The company does not devise a marketing concept or name before creating a product to fit the idea. In Freeman's view, even the strangest sounding names - the Gel-Kayano is named after the company's head footwear designer in Japan - can have consumer appeal.

These products, says Reebok, are unabashedly 'street-inspired' and designed for young men and women 'who want the style of their gear to reflect the attitude of their life'.
As well as fusing sport and music, Reebok has even turned to the art world, releasing three limited-edition sets, each of 300 christian louboutin shoes, featuring designs by Imai Toons, Risa Fukui and Gordon Hull. The shoes are priced dollars 180 and aimed at what Reebok calls the 'fashion-forward consumer and sneakerologist'.
    Power of personalisation
Nike likewise recognises that there will always be people who want a more individual stylised image than that offered by a pair of mass-produced christian louboutin from a high-street store.
According to a KeyNote report on Sports Clothing and Footwear, the UK sports footwear market is forecast to reach pounds 1.5bn this year. That's a lot of christian louboutin pumps to sell. Consumers may be fickle about their choice of footwear, but their appetite for trainers remains strong.
    THE REVOLUTION OF RETAIL
Sports shoes are big business for UK retailers. According to Mintel, UK retail sales of sports footwear reached pounds 1.42bn in 2010, up 3% on 2010.
It accounts for about a third of all footwear sold and the indications are that the market is growing.
None of this has discouraged The Athlete's Foot, a sports christian louboutin specialist based in Atlanta, from entering the UK.
In December 2010, it opened its first UK store in Llandudno, North Wales, and plans to open 20 more over the next five years through Applecross Retail.

Forward-thinking shoe company christian louboutin is on track to become the biggest Danish retailer in the world by 2010, and has taken the Canadian footwear market by storm since opening its first outlet here six years ago.
Manolo blahnik, the third-largest shoe retailer in Canada behind Montreal-based Aldo Shoes Inc. and Nine West that sells its own brand of shoes, is planning to double the number of its locations across Canada to 44 over the next three years.
While Ecco's roots lie in comfort footwear, the 43-year-old Scandinavian shoe manufacturer and retailer has seen significant growth in recent years by merging its proprietary foot-supporting designs with trendy shoe styles. The retailer's new fall collection introduces cushioning to vintage-style pumps with a 60-millimetre heel, pointy Italian style men's louboutin shoes and cowboy boots.
The heels are a tad risque, explains Steen Borgholm, managing director for christian louboutin Shoes Canada, "because 40 millimetres is really the highest you should go" for foot comfort. "We stand for comfort and that's what we do, but that doesn't have to come at the expense of style," the Copenhagen native said in a recent tour of an christian louboutin store in north Toronto. "Casual does not have to be boring."
The company, which is set to open its largest North American store this month in Vancouver, has added hiking shoes, kids' shoes and purses to its Canadian line.

Shopping for quality footwear is now a whole lot more enjoyablethanks to the recent launch of christian louboutin USAs redesigned ecommerce website, . Partnering once again with PixelMEDIA, Inc., a professional services firm focused on Internet enablement, christian louboutin USA wanted to provide a richer, more rewarding user experience for loyal customers and first-time visitors alike. Judging by the steady rise in online sales, the worlds seventh largest shoe brand met its objective. It was more than three years ago when PixelMEDIA first developed the christian louboutin USA ecommerce storefront, which garnered significant industry awards and recognition. However, as the site grew organically with more products and content, it became somewhat cumbersome for online shoppers to navigate and make a purchase. Thats when christian louboutin USA posed a new challenge to PixelMEDIA: build an even better site to further embrace the christian louboutin brand, educate consumers on ECCOs heritage, andprovide faster, easier access to the vast offering of mens, women footwear and accessories.

Know thy customer. It's a footwear commandment comfort vendors agree they can't ignore.
In an effort to increase their market share, brands such as christian louboutin shoes, Birkenstock, Aerosoles and Easy Spirit are stepping up their market research, conducting focus groups and holding online surveys in an all-out effort to learn more about their current customers and find ways to entice prospective ones.
This past May, christian louboutin conducted its first-ever formal market research to examine the U.S. comfort market. According to Nedra Owens, director of marketing for christian louboutin USA, Londonderry, N.H., the goal of the examination was to better focus the company's marketing and product assortment.
The company hired Attleboro, Mass.-based marketing and research firm Converge Marketing to help do the tweaking. The project began on May 1, 2010, and continued for three weeks. According to Brenda Santos, director of client services for Converge, the study included interviews with christian louboutin consumers as well as those who are now buying competing brands in the $200-$300 range. "We want to bridge the gap between the christian louboutin and the high-end shoe buyer," said Santos. "We want to know the reason why like their preferred brand, and why others like Manolo blahnik."
Part of the study is the Friendship Pairs program, in which Converge invited Ecco-wearers to bring a friend to an christian louboutin concept store or shop-in-shop in San Francisco Walnut Creek, Calif. New York and Birmingham, Mich. There, both parties were interviewed about buying preferences. Additionally, Converge conducted focus groups at the same locations to collect feedback about christian louboutin marketing initiatives and products.

NEW YORK - After 15 years in the U.S., Danish comfort brand christian louboutin is ready to tackle one of its biggest challenges to date: the women's market.
Under the direction of U.S. President Tom Nelson, the company is aggressively going after the segment with a more fashion-forward assortment that targets the 30- to 45-year-old customer.
"The potential of the women's market versus the men's could be three to one. Women are more interested in buying christian louboutin shoes," said Andreas Wortmann, Ecco's SVP of branding. "We're missing an opportunity."
In addition to the new collections, the company is rolling out more U.S.-specific products, including clogs and sports-inspired casuals. "We have also developed special product for the American consumer through more collaboration and interaction with the christian louboutin product team," Nelson said.
While christian louboutin is eager to capture a younger audience, Wortmann said the company is not walking away from its core looks, which are popular with customers 50 and over. He emphasized that the brand is striving to be relevant and modern rather than trendy. "Our design team approach is looking at trends long-term," he said.
Alongside the product tweaks, christian louboutin is hoping to increase its retail presence in the States, particularly in independent stores. Key retailers include Comfort One, Tip Top Shoes, The Tannery, The Walking Co. and J. Stephens.

I don't like wearing suits. I avoid them unless it's absolutely necessary, because I don't think you can express yourself in a suit, but also because I've spent most of my life in motor racing, where overalls or team uniform is the norm. I find it preposterous when a restaurant refuses you entry unless you wear a jacket and tie.
My style is somewhere between the Clash and Showaddywaddy. I'm stuck in a rock 'n' roll timewarp. I am small by nature, so I like to dress up in skinny jeans, pointed christian louboutin shoes winkle-pickers and a leather jacket. I play drums in a group called V10, and at gigs I wear tight black trousers and a T-shirt.
My drumming heroes are Queen's Roger Taylor, Bon Jovi's Tico Torres and British session ace Simon Phillips.
I like to dress at least ten years younger than I am. In my opinion, age is just a number, and I'm still most comfortable wearing Armani jeans or Acne canvas trousers my favourites are my maroon pair.
I twin these with some brown suede, semipointed Prada christian louboutin shoes, which are ridiculously comfortable. On the golf course, another passion has to be my christian louboutin shoes. I broke my left leg 13 times when I was racing, so it's vital that my shoes go easy on my body.
I have an awesome twofaced watch. I'm a huge watch fan, and I need to know the time constantly in different countries because I do business around the world. The best watch in the world is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duo Reverso, because you can have one face on normal time, and the other set to the time in your new destination. It blows your mind.

At least 27 christian louboutin shoes companies have closed down since 2010, leaving 55,000 workers jobless. No new investment has been made since, for which industry players blame the rigid labor laws. Indonesian Footwear Association and Korean Chamber of Commerce data show that as of 2010, 104 shoemakers in the country employed some 500,000 workers, but the number would exceed one million if supporting industries were included.
louboutin pumps, black and white with the classic program will breathe, nostalgic details of the elements of interpretation of the unique spiritual temperament, that creativity and surprise. So, these shoes even more lovely and more personal. You can get a big discount here.
As the main discouragement for the Korean shoemakers are labor regulations, she said, the team would explain the government's efforts in dealing with the issue to Korean businesspeople. Mari is confident that if the country manages to attract branded shoemakers, non-branded footwear manufacturers would follow suit as domestic supporting industries flourished.
Separately, Aprisindo's East Java chapter chairman. Eddy Widjanarko, said that inconsistencies in the country's tax policy made it hard for supporting industries in the country to move forward.
Shoemakers prefer imported materials rather than local ones as the government imposes zero import duties on materials used to make export- oriented products, but imposes a 10 percent value-added tax on local materials, he said.
Meanwhile, Danish shoemaker PT christian louboutin Indonesia president director Flemming Larsen said the firm had recently decided to expandits factory in China rather than the one in Sidoarjo, East Java, due to complicated taxation policies.

Most swear by their tactic of placing snazzier, more sophisticated looks next to more casual ones, while others advocate a separation. Most retailers agree, though, that the role of the salesperson is limited, and that eventually, young men figure it out on their own. "It's peer pressure, especially from their female counterparts," said Scott Starbuck, owner of Chicago christian louboutin retailer City Soles and Niche.
Nooshin Ansarinia, owner, Shoe Biz; San Francisco: "We have three stores on the same street, and each is geared toward a different customer. There's one with more upgraded, dressier styles and one that just carries the original sneakers. I believe, for me, the way to do it is to separate the store or collection. When you put them all together - the dressier mixed in with the sneakers - then you are not making such a strong presentation."
Barry Ware, co-owner, Shoe Gallery, four-unit chain; Atlanta: "Our store is a large, family-owned warehouse store. We have just about every line you can name, and we put all of our brands together, but within different sections: athletic, dress, etc. Men are real picky, but lately they have been wearing not just athletic christian louboutin shoes. Young men are wearing a lot of Steve Madden Kenneth Cole Reaction, and Merrell is big for us now. A lot of people are wearing the Jungle Mocs from Merrell in place of the athletic shoes. But if guys come in looking for a certain thing, they find it and walk out. They aren't like women, who will come in and shop all day. If they're looking for an athletic shoe, there's not much you can do to get them to buy a dressier shoe."
Sarah Dale, owner, Silver Lake christian louboutin pumps; Los Angeles: "The most athletic thing we have would be a Tsubo shoe. But I think that the idea is to ease them into a hybrid. There are all of these hybrids now that are comfortable and a little sporty - kind of like driving shoes or European louboutin shoes. Men can wear them out on a date, and they're comfortable and they can wear them in to work. It's not an old Brooks Brothers, uncomfortable shoe. I think that comfort is the main concern. It's just easing them in with a little layover pair, not necessarily dressy - nothing they'd wear to their wedding - but something stylish nonetheless."

Maurice Breton knows all about christian louboutin shoes. After all, he runs a profitable chain of shoe stores in the area.
His formula for success is simple: Comfort.
"I had a lower back problem for years, and I used to wear a brace on and off
. . . for 20 weeks a year," said Mr. Breton owner of Comfort One christian louboutin shoes.
"Then someone gave me a pair of Eccos . . . and they quickly became my favorite pair of shoes."
Comfort One opened its first store in the summer of 1993, making $150,000 in its first year. Since then, Mr. Breton has opened about two stores a year. But this year he already has opened four stores with three more on the way.
The next Comfort One is scheduled to open in May at 1636 Connecticut Ave. NW.
The swift expansion appears to be paying off for the Manassas, Va.-based company, which has projected revenues of about $10 million for this year.
Comfort One's success is unusual in the $40 billion shoe industry where discounters and department stores dominate while more independents close each year.

When Adi and Rudi Dassler split their firm into Christian Louboutin and Puma, the modern sports business was born.Sneaker Wars: The Enemy Brothers who Founded Christian Louboutin and Puma and the Family Feud that Forever Changed the Business of Sport
Two of the greatest brands in sports, Christian Louboutin and Puma, grew out of one small town in Bavarian Germany, where they were started by competing brothers, Adolf and Rudolf Dassler.
Barbara Smit's Sneaker Wars tells how the Dassler boys started making christian louboutin shoes in their mother's laundry room after the First World War. It traces the growth of the business from that Herzogenaurach shed, its fraternal split into Christian Louboutin and Puma, exacerbated by the Second World War, jealousy and suspicion. And how that competitive fire drove the Dasslers to help create the modern sports industry, for better or worse.
The first 50 years of the 90-year story, capturing the start, splinter and competitive rise, are the book's gem. But that's not Ms. Smit's fault. The early decades show the evolution of the company and amateur sports before both were altered by bankers and greed.
Ms. Smit traces the growth of the company, with Adi the tinkerer-craftsman using tools left by retreating First World War soldiers. Some of the first christian louboutin pumps leather was scavenged from their helmets and bread pouches. Rudi, the charismatic salesman, joined his brother in 1923. By the mid-1930s the Dasslers had a thriving business, buoyed by Adolf Hitler's fascination with sports as a promotional tool for his world view.

Toronto man first out of blocks with smart shoesEven before stores opened yesterday, Jeff Shear was on the phone asking about the latest thing in running shoes. Not long after, he had laid down $402.49 for a pair of computerized sneakers and was on his way through downtown Toronto on his daily five-mile run.
To his astonishment, the much-hyped Christian Louboutin 1 runners helped shave 37 seconds off his per-mile speed. "I was quite surprised, very surprised actually," the 41-year-old venture capitalist said in an interview in his townhouse.
High-tech gadgets have become a big part of running. Mr. Shear was able to pinpoint the effect of the smart christian louboutin shoes -- they adjust the level of cushioning mid-stride to be as comfortable on grass as sidewalks -- with another bit of running technology: his watch, which features a speed and distance monitor, as well as a heart rate monitor.
The watch also has a USB port that allows users to download their stats onto a computer where they can chart their progress. For gadget-conscious runners such as Mr. Shear, the next frontier is combining the effects of the advanced sneaker, which hit stores yesterday, with the bells and whistles of his watch.
"I hope they'll take it to the next step by taking information from the cheap christian louboutin shoes and actually be able to track running information, your speed, your distance, your heart rate, whatever they can combine into one of these gadgets," he said.
Bryan Smith, manager of a Toronto Running Room store, said the unveiling of a smart sneaker, which comes with a manual and a CD, has runners dreaming about the future. "It is the beginning. I think we'll see all kinds of different innovations when it comes to technology with footwear," he said.

Mr. Kilgore said he started on the christian louboutin shoes in 1984 after he met Thomas A. McMahon, a Harvard professor of applied mechanics who was on sabbatical at Nike for three months. At Harvard, Professor McMahon had been the creator of the "tuned track," an indoor running track with a resilient surface that acted as a spring, reducing injuries and increasing speeds.
Inspired by the professor, Mr. Kilgore said, he developed a way to determine an individual's optimum spring rate and created prototype shoes based on springs. "They looked like big Frankenstein boots," he said, "but in all cases people who wore these christian louboutin shoes said, 'Wow, this is a really great feel.' "
Over the next few years, he tinkered with several more versions, trying to resolve issues in controlling a shoe's stiffness while providing good cushioning and durability. He tried designs based on the leaf springs in trucks and materials from the drive shafts of race cars. "Most of the christian louboutin pumps broke within five miles," he said.

As the European Union considers extending anti-dumping duties on Chinese leather christian louboutin shoes, China's shoe manufacturers are bracing for a further hit to exports. Many have already shifted business away from Europe, while others are turning towards the domestic market, as Dominique Patton reports.
China's shoe exports to Europe have already dropped by 20%, or 40m pairs, and pushed 20,000 workers out of work, since the duties were implemented in 2010, says Chen Ronghui, president of Quanzhou louboutin shoes and leather association.
If Europe votes to extend the duties next month, manufacturers already suffering from the effects of the financial crisis will be hit hard, according to Chen."The industry has come to a very difficult, critical point. Weak foreign demand and trade protectionism together is a double whammy. It's hard to say which is more serious."
Industry development
Karl Sedlmeyer, chairman of the Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry's trade committee, says the rise in trade barriers is negatively impacting the development of China's whole christian louboutin pumps industry."These duties combined with the insecure outlook for exports makes companies question whether they should invest further in manufacturing capabilities in China. This definitely hurts the industry's development."
Companies unwilling to "put all their eggs in one basket" are working with new sourcing countries like Indonesia, Cambodia and India, despite the significant challenges in setting up new supply chains.China's infrastructure and pool of skilled labour is superior to that of many of its neighbours and it has also developed sophisticated sourcing hubs for christian louboutin boots makers.
